How to make a hot toddy


I am the biggest baby when it comes to getting sick. I almost always get sick at least twice a year. Thank goodness I know how to make a hot toddy. I don’t need to fool around with any harsh cold medicines that taste absolutely gross. I just make a warm glass full of my hot toddy and I’m good to go.


What is a Hot Toddy? It’s pretty much a spiced tea with whiskey in it. Therefore, you must be 21+ to enjoy it! Everyone and there grandmother has a recipe for it. It’s really easy to make, and it can be done it minutes. I love drink hot toddies after a long stressful day at work, or while suffering from a miserable cold. It simply works like magic for me. Try this recipe out for yourself!

How to make a hot toddy


3 black tea bags

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1/2 tsp ground clove

1/2 ground ginger

3 tbsp brown sugar

4 shots of cinnamon flavored whiskey( you can use more or less)

4 cups of water

1 lemon(sliced)

*whipped cream


  1. Bring the water to a boil.
  2. Once the water is boiling hot, remove the pot from the burner and add in your tea bags.
  3. Now add in your lemons slices, ginger, cinnamon, and sugar. Stir in the ingredients.
  4. Pour the tea into four different glass. You can add some of the lemon slices as well.
  5. In each glass of tea, add a hot of the cinnamon flavored whiskey.
  6. You can add whipped cream on top, and also garnish the cups with lemons, and etc.
  7. Enjoy!

    I would try this if i was 21+ it sounds great! I don’t get sick very often but this seems like a good before work/school drink. :)
